I’m a big fan of F1 and in Nov 2023 they announced that for the Silverstone British GP, the opening concert would be performed by Kings of Leon on 4th July 2024 – it was a no brainer, my favourite band and sport taking place on my birthday!

The Main Stage are at Silverstone is huge, much bigger that I thought it was going to be, so when it came time to leave the race enclosure and go over to the main stage, it felt like there were a million people already there!  We found a spot where we could see the stage and most of the screens, therefore, it worked out fine.

This concert took place during the Can We Please Have Fun tour, one that I was really looking forward to as I love their new album, and the tour had already been receiving rave reviews.

They did not disappoint!  I have to say, I was really impressed with the “Showmanship” on display – something that is quite often lacking at a KOL show.  “Musicianship” is always there, 110%, but this was different in many ways, all good!

They setlist was awesome and I got to hear a few older songs that I have never heard live before:  My Party, Comeback Story and Back Down South.  My Party was particularly brilliant as it’s one of Alan and I’s faves and there was the start of a stunning sunset.

I really enjoyed the live versions of their new songs and all the screen visuals that accompanied them.

It was really quite unusual to see the crowd mainly dressed in F1 merch! I

Overall, it was one of the best KOL concerts I have been to.
