Kings of Leon - Hydro, Glasgow - 28 Jun 2022

Updated: Aug 10, 2022

This show was the first event I had been to since before COVID struck, so needless to say I was really looking forward to it.

The night before the show, I met up with my friends Daniela (from Austria) and Nicole (from Switzerland) for Dinner. I have known them for years. Both Daniela and Nicole travel all over the world to see KOL and they run @kolfanblog which they started after I stopped doing CloserToKOL. We had a great time at dinner catching up as we hadn't seen each other for a few years.

Alan and I were due to go to the barrier with Daniela & Nicole, but I was unwell earlier in the day and didn't feel good enough to be trapped-in at the barrier in the event I was sick again! Therefore, we were still able to go but stood nearer the back next to an exit!

The show was AMAZING! The band sounded probably the best I have ever heard them live. Loved the graphics and lights which were great to take in from a distance. The band played a long set which flowed very well and had a mix of songs from all their albums.

I got to hear some newer trackers for the first time and some of my favourites again, particularly Arizona, Crawl, Closer and Pickup Truck, so I was a happy girl!

After the show, Alan and I waited back as Daniel had messaged me before the show to say she had something for me! It turned out to be a personalised Setlist, Nathan's drumming glove and his hair-tie!!! What a fantastic surprise, organised by KOL's Creative Director, Casey McGrath!
