This event was part of the celebrations for Glasgow being named "City of Culture" in 1990.
The event was held simultaneously in Glasgow Green, George Square, Custom House Quay and the People's Palace and also broadcast live on Ch4.
Infamous for Bellshill-born singer Sheena Easton being bottled on-stage for addressing the Scots audience in a mid-Atlantic drawl - she vowed never to come back - she didn't to this day LOL!
There were so many acts playing in the city that day (see below), I can clearly remember seeing the Wets and Aswad as we were in George Square.
The City had a carnival atmosphere and I have a vivid memory of Buchanan Street being jammed with people with a huge green dragon dancing down it!!
The line-up was insane!
