We have been listening to and watching Dusty Lee Stephensen (above) since the Covid lockdown. He is a very talented singer, musician, writer, and performer based in Adelaide, Australia.
We first came across him on the YouTube channel of an Adelaide-based cover band, HSCC. Here is a link to a playlist of all the songs he took part in — really worth a watch!
He also performs solo and is a main band member of Wanderers, all of which are fantastic to listen to.
Australia has a huge number of talented musicians who often record and tour with each other under different collectives. One such collective that Dusty is a member of is The 27 Club. When I spotted that the show was coming to Edinburgh, I booked tickets immediately!
This must-see live rock-umentary features the music and lore of Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix — the artists who sadly became known as “The 27 Club.”
The performing members of the show include some of Australia’s top rock icons: Dusty Stephensen (Wanderers), Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), and Kevin Mitchell (Jebediah).
We were lucky enough to be right at the front, and the show completely blew us away — it was INCREDIBLE!!!
This is a little compilation of the videos I took:
