Rome, Italy - Aug 2007

What a beautiful city. We loved all the winding cobbled streets and little restaurants off the beaten track. Boy did we eat well on this trip!


We visited the Vatican City which includes St Peter’s Square, St Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum and Gardens as well as the stunning Sistine Chapel.


We also spent time at The Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, The Spanish Steps and a whole day in the very impressive Colosseum.


Rome is one of those cities where you have seen all the places a million times on TV/Film and can’t quite believe your eyes when you are actually standing in front of them!


On our second to last day, we discovered that we had been walking past quite an ordinary church (Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri) at least twice a day and decided to finally take a look inside… OMG it was absolutely beautiful and had been right on our hotel’s doorstep all along!
